About us

The Section for Brain Stimulation was established on 15 January 2025 within the Czech Society for Clinical Neurophysiology, a part of the Czech Medical Association J. E. Purkyně

We are responding to the growing importance of brain stimulation techniques in clinical practice, research, and education, building on similar initiatives abroad. The aim of the Section for Brain Stimulation  is to connect experts from clinical practice, research, technology, and academia who work with brain stimulation methods and their applications in neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation, and other fields.

Our section is a member of the European Society for Brain Stimulation, an international organization bringing experts in brain stimulation together.

Main goals and activities of the section:

  • Preparing and updating recommendations and guidelines for the use of brain stimulation in clinical practice

  • Building a network of workplaces for multicentric academic research in the field of brain stimulation

  • Establishing training centers and certification programs for professionals applying brain stimulation methods

  • Defining and promoting regulatory, ethical, and safety standards for the use of commercial NIBS devices

  • Organizing conferences, workshops, and training sessions

  • Interdisciplinary discussion and sharing of experience across both medical and non-medical fields
